Cement Modifier ARC-76

ARC-76 is a water-dispersible acrylic polymer emulsion specially designed for enhancing Portland cement. When mixed with cement mortar, ARC-76 improves the adhesion, waterproofing, abrasion resistance, salt resistance, chemical resistance, durability, weather resistance, and crack resistance of traditional cement mortars. It can be considered a supplement for cement (Cement Tonic) and is suitable for all cement applications both indoors and outdoors. It can also be used as an adhesive for bonding old and new surfaces (secondary bonding).

Once cured, it does not re-emulsify or hydrolyze, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

 UV-resistant and will not yellow.

Freeze-thaw resistant; suitable for cement applications in cold storage. It has been tested in a -90°C freezer and remained undamaged.

Significantly reduces hardening shrinkage on plastered surfaces, effectively suppressing cracking.

Mortar mixed with ARC-76 has shear strength greater than that of non-mixed mortars by more than 50 times, making it suitable for various brick types or marble applications.

The surface mixed with ARC-76 exhibits more than 3 times higher abrasion resistance.

 Enhances waterproofing.

 Improves early strength.

It is air-cured and requires no curing, saving labor and time.

‧ Repair, filling, bonding, and injection for concrete holes, structural cracks, cold joints, honeycombing, etc.

‧ Thin plastering on sandy floors (requires primer).

‧ Bonding difficult materials such as glass, metal sheets, gypsum board walls, PVC materials, ALC, aluminum sheets, rock slabs, wood, concrete, and other complex surfaces.

‧ Can be mixed into general cement paints to increase long-term adhesion and durability.

‧ Effective waterproofing agent for various waterproofing applications.

‧ Additive for non-slip, dust-proof, or abrasion-resistant flooring.

‧ Additive for terrazzo, sprayed cement mortar, exterior wall patching, etc.

‧ Primary additive for cement mortar thin slurry projects.

/ Preparation

‧ For existing concrete surfaces, remove loose parts. Clean surface curing agents, oil, paint, and other contaminants using chemical cleaners if necessary.

‧ For hard, smooth surfaces or newly cast concrete surfaces, it is best to remove them with a 10%–15% diluted hydrochloric acid solution, then rinse thoroughly with clean water to aid bonding.

‧ Prior to application, ensure the surface is damp but not wet.

‧ Before application, apply a primer coat of undiluted ARC-76 at a rate of approximately 0.2 kg per square meter.

/ Mixing

‧ Dilute ARC-76 with 1 to 3 times water for use as mixing water and add directly to the mortar. The dilution ratio depends on the project requirements; testing beforehand is recommended.

‧ ‧Standard Use: Dilute ARC-76 by 1.5 times to use as mixing water in various mortar ratios to achieve optimal compressive strength, bending strength, adhesion, and ideal waterproofing.

‧ Ratios below 1.5 times will improve other physical properties but reduce compressive strength.

‧ Ratios above 1.5 times will decrease various mechanical strengths.

‧ Ratios exceeding 3 times will diminish the significance and effectiveness of the modified mortar.

‧ ARC-76 is air-cured and does not require water curing, but for outdoor use with strong sunlight or high winds, wet curing with damp cloths may be necessary.

‧ Suitable only for Portland cement; do not use with air-entrained cement or additives.

‧ Use the mixed mortar within 30 minutes.

‧ Avoid excessive stirring; use a defoamer if necessary.

‧ If combining with other additives, test compatibility or consult with the manufacturer.

‧ Do not use when temperatures are below 5°C.

‧ If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.

‧ Packaging: 20 kg per bucket (bulk professional use available in 160 kg buckets).

‧ Storage: Store in a cool, ventilated place. Shelf life is 2 years.
